Some days ago I was at the thrift shop (Brocki) AGAIN. I should not go because I always find something beautiful and cheap but our apartement’s space is very limited. This time  I found colourful apple stuff only. A boule, a tin, a matching tablett and a wrapping paper still in its original packageing - yay!! It was only 6 CHF which is about 4 €.

Because of these finds I had the idea to make my own apple pattern. It was important to me to keep it retro but with my note. Therefore I arranged the apples in the same system as my heart patterns.

Last weekend i found a couple of chicken Hornsea mugs in the thrift shop (Brocki) - i would not call myself a collector YET but i really do want to have more of them. They were designed by John Clappison. I love the way he designes animals, they are always cute and adorably simple.

I bought a patience card set at the “Brockenhaus” the other day and when i counted the cards i realized that one part was still in its original package. I was so happy about this find - i guess i will never unravel it!

Yesterday i sewed with the old “Bernina Standard 125 S” for the first time. I tried to find out how old she is, but didn’t find anything with google. I oiled it and started sewing my felt pouches but it is kind of hard to get used to the knee- thingy instead of a pedal. … Sorry for my english, i don’t even know the exact german words and now i try to describe it in english! And i always had to start using the hand wheel or it would sew too fast. D. asked why i don’t use the new one, but I WANT to sew with this one!!

Oh, in the background of the pictures you see… THE WINDOWS!! So the horrible rebuilding time is almost over! Studio is still a dirty mess and i guess we need a week to clean up and paint the walls. But at least there is light again :)))

We found 2 old Bernina sewing machines at our favorite Brocki, i will use the older one for my felt pouches. It still functions and it is superstylish with small bakelite drawers for extra needles and thread, it is really nice and working well. It was 40 CHF, which is 25 €. Pictures will follow soon. I am happy to have my own sewing machine now!

Ok, I really had a shit week. So I compensate. I just found these treassures at the brocki that is just a few minutes walk from the studio. I paid 12 CHF, 7,5 € for all, no sheet of paper used, almost new crayons, a small poem book and…!! The laundry basket is the most beautiful plastic laundry basket i have ever seen, honestly. On the back it says: Design Luigi Colani. I really don’t need this plastic basket but it makes me just happy looking at it - thank you, Luigi!!!
